Laurent LEYLEKIAN

Laurent Leylekian is a senior Officer for European Affairs at ONERA, in the Aeroacoustics Department. He earned his engineering diploma in 1990 and received his PhD in Solid State Physics from the Université Paris XI-Orsay in 1993. He started his career at the Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique (CEA) and joined the French Aerospace Lab (ONERA) in 1994. After working for 15 years on material sciences and 10 years in the aeroacoustics department, he joined the Direction for International Affairs in 2020.
Beside research activities, he was very active in some research networks such as the French CORAC, the EREA and he even led the French chapter of X-Noise, structuring the national effort on aviation noise. From 2017, Laurent Leylekian also acts as coordinator of the European Project ANIMA (grant agreement No 769627) on “Aviation Noise Impact Management through novel Approaches”. Since July 2020, he has addressed space activities in acting as chair of the ESRE’s Strategic Executive Committee.
